”Photography is the projection of ourselves inhabiting a planet”

Claudio Almarza

Claudio Almarza is a renowned naturalist and specialized photographer with a broad career who maintains rigorous dedication and devoted commitment to our planet’s biodiversity.

The development of his projects, which aim toward conservation and cultural heritage, are a call to society on the importance of the environment and how we should care for it. His featured articles, research, books and photographs, as well as documentaries and causes, become pathways through which we can learn about the environment and its irrefutable connection to human beings.

He has published many books that have been translated to several languages. His primary work includes “Patagonia, The Last Land“, “Chile, Footprint of the Gods”, “The Unknown Winter”, “Isla Riesco, Nature and Man”, “Chile, Heirs of the Sea”, and his great work on biodiversity “Oncol Park, Valdivian Rainforest”. The latter is considered in Latin America as forward-looking and unique in its genre; it is a complete graphic-investigative document of one of the planet’s most significant remnants of temperate rainforest that has also been designated as one of the 25 hotspots at the global level.
